Commented Feature: Enter commands into npm command line instead of just viewing output [1033]

Would be great if you could do everything (like npm publish) from VS instead of switching to a separate window every time you want to do something unsupported by the UI
Comments: A console like that would probably be used for much more than just npm, though. We don't have any Grunt support currently, so people have to use the console for that, too. And, in general, the node.js ecosystem is replete with small console utilities doing this and that. From that perspective, I think it makes more sense to keep it visually separate, though that, of course, doesn't preclude integration. Also, the usual UI pattern for windows like these in VS is to make them toolwindows. The user can then arrange them to appear together if he so desires, by docking them one under another, getting essentially the same UI as today. This would also take care of the modality issue. (but it would also require a significant rewrite of the existing dialog)
